Default Temp. Assignment outside the country

I have been provided an opportunity to work on a project in another country (outside the U.S.). The assignment will be for 6 months. I will remain as an employee of my current company (in the U.S) and my reporting structure/responsibilities/pay grade will remain the same. Could you please let me know your thoughts on the following?

1) Will I be able to use my advanced parole document to travel? I plan of making at least 1 trip back to the U.S. during this assignment.
2) My family will remain in the U.S. Will there be an effect on their status?
3) Will there be any effect on the pending I485 applications?
4) What will happen to my H1B status?

Thanks for your support.

Hello,

Congrats! Ex-pat experience is always good...

1. Yes, you can use AP as many times as you want to enter US
2. No, actually having family in US will help the PoE officers to process your entry better
3. No
4. If you have payroll within US, then H-1B should have no impact...just carry the letter from your employer explaining the circumstances of your job and current assignment (in case of H-1B audit/questions)

Good luck!
