Default H1B Stamping before it expires

Hi All,
I like to describe my H1B renewal stamping as follows

1) My H1B is going to expire on 8th sep 2012
2) My employer will apply for renewal in Mar 2012(6 months before)
3) My H1 is renewal is approved and I get a new i-797 in May 2012 - Question : what would be the start date on this 797? is it the date of approval say May 15th 2012 or it is the next day after the current visa expiry like 9th sep 2012?
4) I like to go to India in June 2012 for vacation
5) I like to come back to US in July 2012. – Here my question is while coming back from India, my old Visa stamping is still valid(it expires in Sep 2012). Should I come to US with a new stamping of renewed H1B or should I enter with old Visa which expires in Sep? If I am supposed to enter with new H1B stamping, what would be the start date of the Visa on the new stamping?

You dont need to stamp and come. You can travel with old un-expired visa stamp even after you changed the employer
