Default W9 form for online job along with H1b Job

Hello,

I have H1b visa and working for one client through my employer. I am on W2 on my employer.

Meantime, i found one online job which is on & off job and I get paid based on what I do.

They have asked me to fill out W9 form as payment was gone beyond to $500.

I am not the employee of that company but I just work online for some time and get paid.

Now, my question is, if I fill out W9 form and send to them, will it be any issue from IRS or Labor department?

Will it be considered legal?

Let me know.

Thanks,
DBA
