Same issue with me. I have my current H1 valid till 30th Sep 2012. I have an Extension approved with start date of 01 Oct.
I am planning to travel to India by mid of August and go for stamping in India. So will they give me visa only from October 1st or will it be from the date of stamping since I have old and new petition.
