Default Bahamas visit through Cruise with expired stamping

I'm on H1B visa and my work permit got extended until 2015. I did *not* went through stamping for my extended H1B visa and now, I'm planning for Bahamas visit through cruise. Though I have all valid documents proving my valid H1B work permit extension, is it safe to go and come back to USA from bahamas without prior stamping ? Of course, I do have new (attached) I-94 copy with my extended H1B work permit.

Default Need Stamping

You will need valid stamping at the port of Entry to the US. The Immigration authority at the port only has the ability to Scan the Visa stamping to check availablity.

You will end up cruising Back from Bahamas to India to get a stamping.

One of my friends went to Bahamas with his family and got H-1B stamped. He enjoyed his cruise and also got his H-1B visa.

Default Thanks for the info

... Surprising to read the Murthy article. Any experience from forum members who have tried to visit Mexico with an expired visa stamp? We visited Hawaii and USVI without issues, but would like to hear general experiences with Mexico/Canada.

OP, Thanks for sharing!

AVR applies only to Canada and Mexico provided
1. Your trip is not more than 30 days
2. You do not appear for visa interview

Then only you can re-enter US on your unexpired visa.
