Default H1b Case status confusion?-Pls advise

Hi,

I received the approval notice on my H1b with notice date of Oct 20, 2009.

But on the USCIS website the status says "Acceptance" with date of 5th Nov, 2009 . Does "Acceptance" means Approval?

Also the website has this text which is confusing "On November 5, 2009, an amended notice on this case was mailed describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on the notice. This case is being processed at our VERMONT SERVICE CENTER location. If this I129 PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER is still pending, you will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283"

Can someone please advise on the same?

Thanks in advance!

If you already have the approval notice, use that to enter US (either using a previous unexpired visa or a new stamp using this approval notice).

The website is sometimes not updated in real time. If you have any doubt contact your employer or lawyer.

Hi,
This has been discussed in the past. When an USCIS adjudicator decides on any petition and approves it, a few randomly selected approved petitions get to the adjudicator's supervisor for a "standard review." This is actually according to my attorney, which had happened in her office on a few occasions. When the supervisor sees something that was missed / not taken into consideration, they can request an approved case to be re-opened and an amended receipt to me mailed out. I don't know why it happened to your case and I don't know if that's the case in your situation. However, if an "amended" notice was sent, it will explain in detail what's needed and what next steps should follow. I would wait for the amended notice to see what further steps need to be taken. I would also try to speak to your attorney before trying to re-enter on a visa issued due to this approval. I hope it helps.
