urbanegale,

Can you tell us if you corrected the combo card or just EAD card?

dval_dpal, I am in the same situation. Let me know if you found out anyway to correct this?
Ended up getting a 11 month combo card although I had 2 yr EAD card earlier. Another question I am wondering about is once we ge a combo card, can we change to just the regular EAD card next time? (so that we don't get screwed with yet another 1 yr combo)

hi sundarpn,

It is waste of time and efforts with USCIS regarding validity of card. I sent detailed letter and all supporting docs to TSC. Opened SR. Send few emails. Called at least 5 times for followup. Finally i got response in email :

" "After reviewing our records I found that this recent filing was the first filing for a combination EAD/AP document. The initial issuance of this combo card has a validity period of one year. Renewals of combo cards will be issued based on visa availability and priority date. I apologize for the confusion.

I hope this resolves your concern.

XM1058
Immigration Services Officer
USCIS - Texas Service Center"

After i received this response i called again and talk to EAD supervisor (level 2 officer). She did not have any knowledge of PD and backlogged in EB-3 category. she said as per visa bulletin, i will get my GC before renewal of EAD. (very funny). I told her that my wife got 2 years validity and i got 1. Why? What is parameter USCIS set for validity of combo card? She was not aware of anything. Instead of solving my combo card she said your wife's combo card must be approved with wrong validity. (nonsense). Finally she told me you can send your combo card back to TSC but its not guarantee that officer will issue again 2 years validity and it will take same process of time. I asked her, do i have to pay fees again ? she said "no".

So dear friend its pure gamble. I'm not going to send my combo card back, because its time consuming and unwanted headache. But learned lesson.

Next time i will sure not apply for combo card. Period.

Hope this help.
thank you
