EAD/AP Combocard 1 year - Need help

Hi,
I need a help from you guys and if any one you had a same experience please share with me.
Just month ago I got my EAD and AP combo card validity of 2 years. This is fine. (Service center: TSC)
I applied for my wife June 2nd week (TSC) and she got an EAD and AP combo card only 1 year of validity and dates also 2months overlapped and she is losing two months and she is working.
How do I contact USCIS to make this one is 2 years validity card? Do I need to send an email or letters?
Please let me know where (address TX service center) I need send a letter and process I should follow for change this one as 2 years Combo card.

I heard from my attorney that USCIS is very inconsistent with issuing 2 yrs combo cards. Have others seen this?

I have the old separate 2 yr EAD & 1 yr AP. When I asked about applying for combo during renewal, that's the response I got.

I applied for combo card for my wife and myself. My wife's EAD got approved in one week and she did not get the AP along with EAD card. Mine is more than one month and they have issued an RFE. Have not received the RFE yet. I had sent the same documents for myself and my wife.

Call USCIS as a first step and tell them this issue. Note down date time and other info if you need to follow up or take next steps in this. There are a couple of old threads on this issue. You can get more info there.

Both me and my wife got a 1 year EAD/AP combo card and that too 3 months overlap. So essentially we got EAD for 9 months only. Called USCIS and the lawyer. No use. They say its up to their descretion whether to give for 1 year or 2 year.

I have never read about who successfully changed from 1 year to 2 year once it has been issued.

I was pissed off for a day or two and then gradually realized that just as we are getting screwed in the GC process this is another way of screwing us in the EAD as well.

Paid 2000$ renewing the EAD/AP for me and my wife including lawyer fees and got cheated . Can anything be done .. guess not ! Is anyone listening .. don't think so ! Can we complain to anybody - guess not ...

The USCIS person said you can take an infopass but the immigration officer will tell you the same information so I don't want to waste my time taking an infopass to listen to two minutes of bullshit...

EAD/AP renewal is very easy process. Don't know why we pay thousands to fill out a simple form?

We need to understand the reasons and raise awareness.

It will help everyone including hpandey if you could please provide more information about how you were able to achieve getting USCIS to modify 1 year EAD to 3 year EAD. I mean what steps you followed, what number you called, what was the nature of discussion with the officer, how you convinced the officer to agree to issuing 3 years combo card etc, did he give you reference number etc, where you sent the paper work, how much time the entire exercise took etc.

All this information, or any other relevant information to this process will help a lot of us. Thank you in advance.

I called USCIS on _________, 2011 and spoke with Agent # __________. Agent checked previous request and informed that I should send the original card with an error and all the evidence required with the original application.

4. A copy of pending Adjustment of Status Form I-485

Fees for me and my wife for EAD and AP - 380+380+360+360 is 1480

Lawyer fee for each application - 150 x 4 is 600

Total cost 2080

I can take a chance of filing AP myself and save 300 dollars but I don't mind paying 300 extra dollars for the EAD for me and my wife since our jobs depend on it and we don't want an rfe with something wrong info we filed and then we are left with no jobs until the next EAD arrives.

In any case it saves only 300 dollars. The bigger beef is about the 1480 dollars in fees you pay and get an EAD for 9 months.

If I am not wrong it looks like you got only the EAD changed from 1 year to 2 year and not a combo EAD/AP card. In most cases the USCIS either gives the 2 year EAD if you file it separately from AP or changes it to 2 year if you call them .

It the problem with the Combo card issuances since because of the AP which they assume can be given only for 1 year they make the EAD also valid for 1 year . It is totally on the whim of the issuing officer and only a lucky few get a 2 year combo card.

Is there anyone who was able to get their EAD/AP combo card changed from 1 year to 2 year ? It will be nice to see someone who had success.
