advice needed : h1b - eb3, job switch, etc

Hi,

I am in need of some advice. I am on first h1b extension with 2.5 hears left. I have an MS but was filed under eb3 with priority date of march 2005 (didn't knew about priority categories at that time). Now I am feeling a bit stagnant in my current job, but have always felt myself constrained thinking about restarting the GC process from zero. Given the current eb3 condition and my priority date what would you suggest I should do? Switch job, get a salary raise, restart under eb2 or continue doing whatever I do hoping eb3 will become current in some reasonable time and i'll be free ?

no offense garfield, many of us here hate to give any suggestions/advice, if we see an empty profile. why dont you update your profile first. time and again many of us have asked many people who come up with a new thread first post asking advice for their individual situation, i would urge everyone here to stop advicing/suggesting anyone who does not have their profile complete. If this is what it takes to complete their profile, my vote is to enforce this.

eb3retro, As you may have noticed, this was my first post ever. So I am not aware of what rules you guys have been trying to enforce on this forum. However I like to have my privacy and refuse to share any info that is not pertinent or until I feel comfortable enough. so long .....

IV does not collect any identifiable information. The information is being requested is all about petitions that you had filed, which no way affects your privacy in my personal opinion. These information will help IV to slice and dice the data and present it to lawmakers when the need arises.

It is up to you to contribute to these efforts with clean data. I would suggest you to get a paid consultation from an immigration attorney until you become comfortable with IV, people and its forum

I joined this forum a while back since it seems like a good place to exchange experience with people in the same boat as us. I got repulsed with IV very fast, and this person above very effectively presents the reason why.
There are just too many smug mother&*#$# like the eb3retro guy above, who chase the newcomers with their gloomy personality right out of IV. Though the situation we are facing is very bleak and gloomy, but why does so many of IVers around here wear it on their sleeves. All garfield asked was a valid question and more like advise and in jumped eb3retro with a lecture on his profile with a tinge of sarcasm to vent his weeklong frustration.
With a movement like IV is trying to be, how is it ever going to be sussessful if there are unwelcoming smug people like eb3retro,. They contribute $20 and then they feel they own the joint, and have to find and boss around someone who doesn't dot their i's and cross their t's to feel better about themselves.
In the vein of openness that the eb3retro is asking garfield to post his details, let's take this a step further and post the picture and names also alongwith other details, to put a smug face with smug messages.

You can refile PERM labor under EB-2 and file the I-140 and ask for your EB-3 priority date to be transferred. Provided your EB-3 I-140 has been approved and will not be revoked.
