I was recently audited by Someone from Dept of Homeland Security regarding my H1-B visa status.He asked several questions regarding my position,job duties,pay,work hrs
How long I was associated with my current company, What was my previous job and job duties,How long I am in US etc.
I couldn't provide him the proof of the pay as I didn't had the pay stub to show him at that moment.

I asked him is this just rutine procedure ?He said this is recently started process to check H1B fraud.

Does any one else had same experience?

u can find mmnay threads on this website for these H1-B audit visits. You should be ok as long as you provided truthful info.

just a humble question.. whats wrong in responding to this kind of posts. i dont see anything wrong in suggesting or helping other people like us.

atleast he is not posting anything bad against IV or any religion or anything negative.

Explaining fact gaps will train them to create queries that look real.

simple1 - whenever I see ur reply, it's regarding a toll alert. Same with ronhira guy. All you 2 two do is issue toll alert whenever someone asks a question.

H1-B audits are a reality and he is asking about a visit that he got because clearly no one expects it. What's the problem? What fact gaps did ur james bond brain find?

yes the official did came in person at my work without any notice.He even took mu picture at my desk.it was hell of a surprice.He even wanted talk with my Supervisor but he was on vacation that day.

I'm from india just in the process of starting my labor on H1-B for the alst 4.5 years. You say I'm an anti-immigrant....based on what? I can't waste my time with you.

Please have fun in issuing toll alerts. ppl like me will still respond if I can help. I have received tremendous help from here and other forums also and I will reply if I can asnwer any question. Have fun.

I have filled all my details now.

I got same audit in september as well
the guy came in to my desk and took pictures and i was asked to show my pay stubs
then they went to my hr and asked all questions
on being asked he said its the normal procedure
so no big deal , pls make sure if they coem to your office you should atleast have a copy of your paystubs

It is so hostile. So should we carry the pay stubs everyday? What if we don't have pay stubs with us?

Already by law we are supposed to have the travel documents (passports + visa papers) all the time with us.
