Year 2008 is going to be a tough year for us. Any legislation will be tough and may have to wait until after the elections. If there are opportunities for our provisions (even if they are as small ) in any bill we will need to be ready for it. There is going to be some effort before April before the H1B quota opens up and after April when the quota will dry quickly. Small temporary relief is possible if we push hard enough. IV is already working with several like minded organizations and exploring possibilities for legislative relief.

We are also running a letter campaign for administrative fixes. The lobby efforts for this will also mean working hard for several months until they are agreed and implemented.

Immigrationvoice can continue the efforts only as long as there are members willing to support it. We thus are starting a funding drive so that we can keep the efforts on with the same or higher momentum.

AOS it could probably be half a million.
IV membership is around 26,000 people registered
Probably 3 times visit IV as guests so lets say 75,000 people are non registered
Atleast 20% contributed financially
Atleast 5% sign up for recurring contributions
Atleast 10% are actively involved in action items
1% are dedicated members
.1% are motivated volunteers

Guys! We need to improve these statistics. Join IV! become members rather than guests! Contribute! Me and my wife were silent observers for a long time as well... But then we realized, IV is the only entity that is working for us, that has no benefit if all of us do not benefit. Everybody else, lawyers, industry, everyone, have a motive that we do not share. Seeing the successes of IV in the past and in recent times... I am glad that we finally contributed, and it feels good to be a part of this. Please come forward and support IV by signing up for recurring contributions. And this is the best time to do it...

The above information should be in the home page of IV. This is my humble openion. Along with the priority dates, it could be a good motivating factor for recruitment.

Another important factor would be to include some important discussion threads as separate link.

Recurring contributions are too high..say $50 and $100... If they were made $10-20 then i feel many would contribute as it may not be a burden for most of the people..

I have contributed $20 by check this month as per the suggestion from Pappu and am planning to do so every month..

This topic has been discussed in many threads and should be taken seriously by senior members of IV to attract more registrations in IV.

There is a strong reason for the minimum $50 recurring contributions. But offcourse if you want to donate less, you are most welcome using the paypal.
