Is it advisable to send a mass mail to advise the membership of the news (Aman on FoxNews, Cornyn introducing SKIL, etc.), in the meanwhile the email can encourage the members to forward it on to their H1b, F1, J1 friends?

In the past couple of weeks I tend to wrap up any news that exemplified what IV is for and has done, and send them to my mailing list of people to get them motivated to sign up with IV and begin to contirbute. Since I signed up with IV in late March I really only got two bulk mails from IV. And in no way am I objected to receiving more emails from IV..

Meanwhile, what's going on with the assignments and conference calls with volunteers?

First of all 10/10 to Aman in presenting our case in such a short time. I wish fox had not showed images of the protest when Aman was talking. People take away images not the content. So I wish there were positive images like Indians working board rooms or guiding teams etc or just the speaker. Anyways these are subtle differences I thought you guys can ask for during the next interview.
Congratulations to IV on a job well done given our current limitations its awesome that you guys could even land us a spot on the national media.

Guys, although most of the members of the IV and all of its founders are Indians, we (I am Caucasian) should maintain a multicultural and international image of the IV. It is very important for achieving of our common goals. If you present it as an only Indian-Chinese group of people, all legal immigrants become vulnerable and easy target for Mr. Dobbs an likes.

Think about it and act smartly. There is too much at stake and we cannot afford to make mistakes.

I never knew Aman Kapoor was going to talk on this on Fox News Channel. Coincidentatlly, the first thing I did this morning was to send an email to Fox News (O reilly, Fox and freinds, Fox weekend show etc). The subject of my email was: Misconception about a path to citizenship for LEGAL immigrants

Below is the script of the email I sent and I believe if we can all send emails to various news channels then we might catch more people attention and bring our plight to limelight. Just go to any news channel website and you'd see contact email addresses. I am sure you can also write the email in your own words or make mine better.... Aluta continua Victoria Accerta!

SUBJ: Misconception about a path to citizenship for LEGAL immigrants

I have watched and listened to several debates about immigration on your channel. I have come to notice that there is a general misconception about an existing path to citizenship for LEGAL immigrants. The truth is that there is really NO PATH.

It is possible to be in this country for 15 years LEGALLY (either on H1Bs, F1 etc or a combiantion of these), without breaking the law and paying also paying taxes but YET without any hope of being a permanent resident talkless of being a citizen.

Unfortunately this mostly applies to HIGHLY SKILLED LEGAL immigrants. The only paths to citizenship is through family or through an employer, so, if you do not have a family or your employer is unwillingly to sponsor an immigrant visa (which is mostly the case because of the higly stringent requirements), then you'll have to pack your load and leave to find and start a new life wherever. In most cases, this involves selling properties, relocating children who were born here etc.

It is hard on Highly Skilled LEGAL immigrants but nobody realizes or is talking about this. Please highlight this in your debates.

A suggestion for the core group of IV. How about adding a listing showing number of members by country of origin? Also, invite some members from other countries to be part of the core group to help with Media relations. They can also spread the word in media of their language (like Chinese newspapers etc. just used that as an example).

It would be really helpful if we can post the video on Google Video and You Tube. They would allow it to be posted if there is no copyright issue. I am not sure about the copyright. If we can post it there it would really easy to link to it and we can use the power of networks in spreading it.

Also for the multiethnic image for IV as a first step we can put an image on the front page header of showing some of the members from different countries. Again as someone said *images are powerful than words"
