Speaking of Lou Dobbs, did anyone else catch the NumbersUsa lady on CNN complaining about the "substantial provisions" contained in the manager's amendment? You could almost see the smoke coming out of her ears
They're steaming mad about this. Buckle up folks, there is still a long way to go, and tough road ahead.

We have had enough of this topic already .. you are very much entitled to your opinion about lou dobbs, but it is impossible to see any genuine legal immigrant loving the man at any point of time.Period. |

I have watched Lou Dobbs briefly.
There a a couple of myths spread by the anti legal immigration people which are not properly coutered by pro immigration articles and new clips I have come across. It would be great if all artile were prefaced by a standard paragraph or blurb to refute such rumors and state the actual facts. They are. 1) the myth that hi tech workers are undercutting local labor wages: We need to publicize that employers are paying a PREMIUM in terms of salary and legal cost to retain foreign labor. The press needs to be told about prevailing wage determination and and labor certification rules. It would be senseless for employers to do all this unless there was a genuine shortage. There have been cases of some consultng firms who underpayed their employees but usually the client still ends up paying the market salary and just avoids the legal hassle. In any case such companies have had legal action taken against them. 2) we dont pay taxes. -- have not heard a refutation of this either. |

I started this discussion NOT to quote Lou Dobbs, or raise any flames
My main intention was to predict all the obstacles and our enemies and their stratergies to be prepared for the next battle As of today there is no one to rebuttle Lou Dobbs claims that H1Bs does'nt pay taxes etc and this leaves average Joe's to belive what ever he says. atleast whenver we have opportunity we should try to spread the word that we play by rules, pay taxes like any other American citizen and are not entitled for all the benefits Most importantly when we return back to our country most of us take our jobs with us, it does'nt mean that when we leave our jobs will be filled by Americans and most of the corporates are enjoying this win-win situation. many of the doctors who serves community at under served area are also facing many hardship I think it's high time that we educate average Americans about our case |
