The discussion is what we should do to act on these issues. IV core has been (I assume) assembling data for some time now to have valid numbers for some action items. Let's get on with the action items now and see where they take us. If that is deemed unsuccessful then we go for the next. We keep trying. That should be the motto. My 2 cents.

I knew no one will believe it. But Ron is saying it from the beginning of this year that EB3I will move considerably briefly later this year. Check out the following thread.
http://immigration-information.com/f...ead.php?t=6963 Ron's Quote: I think that we will see quota relief this year. If so, your priority date will become current this year. That's the good news. The bad news is that this has nothing whatsoever to do with CIS processing, which will not only remain slow, but will undoubtedly get slower. Anyone familiar with the 'Quota Relief'? Pls throw some light.

Allowing people to file for 485, but not giving any GCs may be the plan.
Such a move do not bring much complaints from anti-immi groups. But this move will reduce the noise from people who have not yet filed for 485s. May be after getting EAD all those people will invest more in America. This is maximum bang for the immigration buck from the USCIS/DOS point of view.

With your 485 application packet, you need to attach proof of your 140 application.
You can switch to EAD after you get EAD (which may or may not happen within 6 months of applying for 485 and EAD). 6 months after you apply for 485, you can switch employer with out negative consequences to your 485. Disclaimer: Any thing and every thing related to USCIS is like gambling.

All the positive comments about EB3 I cutoff movement seem to emnate from the possibility of passing the Senate Bill 9 sometime this year. Below links have more information about these.
http://24ahead.com/comprensive-immig...nger-economy-s http://www.immigration-information.c...ead.php?t=6958 Reading the posts, it looks like immigration reform is on priority for new congress because it is one the first 10 placeholder Bills.

My labor was put as just "computer programmer" with my US experience as 4 yrs experience on top of having BE + Masters (From India). My I-140 for EB2 got denied and my company forced it to refile in EB3, which got approved recently.. but then am in the long queue of I-1485.
Initially it was queue for Labor in 2003 which took 2+ years, then I-140 2yrs for getting EB2-denial and then another year for EB3-approval of I-140. Now waiting for I-485 since 2007 July.
