I never said what USCIS does is always right. July 2007 was a classic case. My point is to argue on basis of facts/laws in court. That is exactly what happened in July 07. If they are doing anything wrong then sending pizzas is not going to help. Only lawsuit can help in such scenarios.

This Gandhigiri helps only where laws are not followed on ground. In this country go to congress to pass laws and then some Gandhigiri might help there. As far as rest of the country/organizations, it works on court system.

Rallies/opposition might work with lawmakers, as it might get their attention. But with USCIS it will be waste of money/time.

They will just eat up pizzas and will want extra large diet coke to go with it. We will just pay the tab and go home.

Fact is if IV wants to change how USCIS works then court is better way than sending flowers/pizza. People in US understand language only when its sent by court. You can send as many pizzas as you want, its not going to help. July 2007 was a classic case. It was due to power of AILA, IV, etc that helped in court system to prove wrongdoing of USCIS. It will be silly to think that somehow sending flowers helped the case.

Believing in IV has nothing to do with it. I am supporter of IV as it helps my cause.

I would send them a bucket of hot chicken noodle soup,it is kind of cold in DC today.I dont know if lobbying will work any more?Obama has said that he will not entertain lobbyists.However we need few representatives/senators exclusively to work for our causes and they should stop everything else untill green card reform is passed.This has to happen,even if we go to that extent then illegal immigration will take over legal immigration,I would say it will be a typical gridlock situation,Unless if some leadership is shown by Obama.Otherwise status Quo will remain same.

It was all due to lawsuit by AILA that forced them to do it.

USCIS does not understand any language other than language of law passed by congress or by court. Sending these flowers/pizzas etc will just add mockery to the case.

We, as aspiring americans are trying to say that we are here, legally and generate wealth for the country. So, just cos we are a minority, here are some red roses for listening to AILA.

All I know is if we have strong case then we should go to court and get it resolved. If we do not, then we should go to Congress to get laws to support us. If neither of this happens then we will be sitting here and arguing whether to send pizza or flowers.

Teli do not take it personally and diverge from topic. My objective it not of fruitless argument. Winning debates is neither my personal hobby nor my objective, while going by rational approach to achieve IV goal is my motive.

If we can manage even 500 members contributing 1 Jumbo pizza it will feed 2000 people. This can become a huge positive marketting campaign.

Good to see the response..
Lets bring up this Pizza movement. Remember, in this process we are helping Pizzahut and every one in this supply chain, though in a small way.
We will finally come up with a very good message acceptable to all of us and send that message along with the pizzas on the pizza day.

Some people may not be OK with the idea, but MOST of us here are NOT ok with just sitting quite in a corner. We can contact congress and this effort is also in that direction.

This can be considered a Gandhian way to fight it out, and in the process we feed those unfortunate people who need it most at this time. Lets start a movement.

If you see from there perspective, we been brought here to fill the employment needs...When the unemployment rate is spiking to record high..there is no necessity for them to accelerate the GC approval process as of now...[Remember ..GC is for future employment]...Sending Pizzas only give business to couple of pizza restaurants in and around DC area....rather we shall just send a e-mail to grassley/sanders and copy to Associated Press that we pay tax and educate them the difference between Outsourcing company and the immigrants who wants to be part of them in the American soil...

As gcnotfiledyet said..i do think the Flower campaign just fueled the AILA lawsuit...

I like the food idea, but people eat and completely forget after few weeks..
here are my 2 cents:
why don’t we send them some souvenirs with IV logo and explain what we are trying to do,
if the souvenirs are nice, they cant trash them but instead keep it as a show piece in their office reminding them about us….
