Bill S.1085 to be reviewed this fall

I just called Senate Judiciary committee 202 224 7703 asking about
the status of S. 1085 that talks about unused visa number capture...

She mentioned that they are reviewing it this fall ....
will appreciate if any one has any other information

On asking about the timeline the lady at that no. said she
didnt know by what time will they be done ...

True...actually I was also thinking about it. But one needs to be wary. A lot of
anti-EB reform people look at these bills and in order to find out the status...post messages in IV and then decide on strategy of whether to call lawmakers.

I also called the number 202-224-7703. The lady told me that, it is scheduled for hearing this fall and we can check on Website judiciary.senate.gov . She said, usually they post the date, 1 week before the hearing in the committee. She is also told that, she is going to pass on the message for hearing, to the senators.

This bill was introduced last congress too...nothing happened.
Don't get yr hopes up too high.

this time it is revised under "Reuniting Families Act" ... lets see how this goes...

Bills like this are discussed every time, they come and go, year over year.
Any new bill introduced is asked simple question against it by antis and anti-favored-lobbysts - is it going to give any help for China, India, Mexico, Philipines to start with and all the world except western europe?
If they find even a small thing (which they term conveniently as a "loophole"), then lobbysts suggest simple amendments, or keep delaying the hearing under the disguise of "constructive changes" simply to make sure that above stated stuff doesn't happen.

sorry for being blunt. but looks like that's a reality. They oppose any "rationing" of healthcare but support "rationing" of highly-skilled workers as per their "country of origin". What a hipocracy!
