Default AP at Chicago POE

I came thru Chicago on 09/09 using AP for the first time. Everything went smooth. The immigration offices at POE seemed to know the situation. At least the officer who I encountered seemed to know. He asked to whom I work for. I told him. I am not working for my GC sponsored employer. He did say anything.
I was asked to give both the originals of AP. The officer stamped and entered the date of entry and some other information in both the original APs. He kept one for himself and gave the other original to me. I asked if I can use the other original next time if I would like to leave the US and come back within the expiry date. The office said, I can. He said that for the first time, he will take one of the two original copies and give me the one original for my use. He said that the next time when I leave US and re-enter, the officers at POE will not take my original. I hope this helps.

Default Using same AP for the second time

Entered on AP at Detroit in October 2009.
IO took away one original AP and gave one back after stamping the date, validity, etc.
Planning to re-enter in January 2010 again at Chicago.

Has anyone used the same stamped AP again? Please share your experience.

Thanks.

Default In one AP year

I travelled 4 times internationally. Once the extra originals were exhausted, they would place the seal on the one original I had and make a copy for themselves. I would be given my original back.

Delays can be caused:
* At boarding point, the airlines makes a mistake in type of status you have etc. In that case, the POE officer has to fix the entry (last time, he was mentioning that Lufthansa has been quite bad lately).
* They have to stamp multiple things. APs, passports etc. So that can take 15mins. Sometime you feel bad the amount of work these officers have to do to handle AP cases.

When on AP, do we go in the line for citizens/PR's or the visitor/H1 line?

Thanks in advance.

Atleast in Chicago, there are only two categories. US Citizens and non citizens.

Non citizens includes visa and GC. This was as of August 2009
