Default Salary Hike during GC Processing

Hi,
I haven't started my GC processing yet. Will it affect my GC if I get a pay hike my GC processing?
Thanks

Default As long as

If you get a pay-raise in the middle of GC processing, that is fine as long as the job description does not change. If you are getting promoted or if the title and/or description changes, then you have a problem.

A simple raise in salary is just fine and dandy.

Default it is good

In fact a salary rise is good. If you get more than the prevailing wage at the time of 140 stage, it is a cake walk.

It seems to be a consensus that your job title cannot change during the GC processing. However if GC is for the future job, how does the title of your current job relevant to it?

I have also seen a lot of people saying, you can switch jobs, go back home etc etc as long as your current employer keeps the process going... doesn't that apply here?

For H1 LCA however I think (technically) you may have to get a new LCA if your title changes...

Okay let's say your GC is for a Programmer. Now you get promoted to IT Mgr which is your current job. At the time of the 485 interview and such, how are you going to convince the officer that you being a Mgr for a few years now, will take the Programmer job at a lower pay?

You don't need to convince the officer why you are switching from Mgr to developer. Important thing is to have actual job or job offer for GC specified job or better if you have already switched back to GC specified job Just before getting interview call

GC is for future employment, its not necessary to work in same job during GC process. But, working in same job adds validity and assertiveness to your claim for the future GC job . Working in other capacity during GC process can not be basis for denial

Talk to attorney before making any decision.
