Who I need to inform about the extension - No one
Does I-485 (AOS) gets affected anyway. Do I need to tell USCIS that my passport has extended, NO Will the extended passport will have new passport Number or Old Passport Number - New number ENJOY

I don't know if it is different for different nationalities, and that by passport extension you mean, "my passport is expiring and I'm getting a new one" (I don't know for sure, my nationality has no such thing as an extension for passports)
The exact same thing happened to me. After AOS filing I needed a new passport, and it did not affect me in any way. * Who I need to inform about the extension My attorney advised me to make a new copy, but I didn't send it anywhere * Does I-485 (AOS) gets affected anyway. Do I need to tell USCIS that my passport has extended, No - but you might as well let your lawyer know, just in case * Will the extended passport will have new passport Number or Old Passport Number New number, as its a new passport |

You are most welcome. If I were you, run it by your attorney before sending it out though. Just to be sure, I sent them an email stating that my passport was expiring and that I need to get a new one and said something along the lines of "is there any reason you would need my passport in the next 4 weeks"
That's when they advised me to send it, get a new photocopy of all pages for my records, which they'd ask for if they needed. I even sent the new passport away to get a different visa for vacation purposes put in it, and I asked the same thing. Same answer in both cases. The caveat would be, there "may" be an occasion that they would need to see the new passport if your AOS status lingers for some time. I don't know how that would affect anything. |
