Question

Hi,

I am on h1b currently and have received my EAD (primary applicant is spouse). I started working on 1099 since monday. Now, I want to make sure that the remaining time on my h1b doesn't get counted after my switch.

Can someone advice what steps to take to let uscis know that i am on EAD? At the same time, do i need to cancel my h1b to make sure that the time on it does not get accounted?

Please advice

Doesn't your H1B status automatically get calcelled when you start using EAD? I always thought that after using EAD if you want to go back to H1B you need to re-apply. Is that not correct?
