Stamping in Toronto

Anyone here got their H1/H4 stamping done in Toronto ? I have an appointment 2 weeks from today.

What all paperwork do i need to show ?
Any gotchas that i need to know about ?

I have been here on H1 for 8 years. Only first stamping was done in home country. 2nd stamping was done in washington. stamping expired 2 years ago.

What is your new petition effective date? I would like to know if there ais any time limit that we can apply for visa only certain days before the effective date. I looked at different sites but did not get clear information.

My current H1 (7 yr) is valid till Dec 2006. New H1 approved from Dec 2006 to Dec 2009. What is th earliest that i can go for stamping( Mexio or Canada).

hmm actually my new H1 is valid from Feb'07-Feb'08
Im hoping that based on my old H1 Feb'06-Feb'07 and the new H1 they will give me a stamping till Feb'08

I went to Vancouver in march05 for visa stamping. it was very straight forward. They did ask my post graduation credentials of US qualifications. So make sure you have them ready just in case they ask for them.

Cool. Can you please tell me the list of documents you had to take ? I dont have a US degree. I originally came in on a H1.

I am going Vancouver next week. This is my third time, October 2003, July 2005 and now Oct 2006. Cna you tell me all the documents and necessary things I need to take with me for this trip? thanks,

on similar lines, has anyone done F-1 visa stamping in Toronto or Vancouver? What are the documents necessary? I am from India and in the USA right now on H-4 visa.

You need to carry the 1129, LCA, Labor, I140 and whatever listed in the Website. I would not suggest you to got to Toronto until unless you are 100% good. All W2s. Was not on bench for a long time etc. I suggest Ottawa.

It is Risky. As the website says you have to get it stamped in your home country. Atleast have the back up plan. Another appointment for H4 or appointment in India and be prepared to go to India. I would suggest Ottawa. I have been there 3 times to Ottawa and 1 time toronto.
