If one of your parents is fluent in english, i would say go ahead with english. But if there is an issue with understanding the accent etc..stick with native language..my in-laws went with native language they had 2 denials even after answering everything that was asked for appropriately, got a 10 yr visa on III try.
My parents went for english and got it on first try...so I guess language preference depends on how comfortable will your parents be in answering the questions of the visa officer...

i am not sure about that but I was able to change my parents application 2 days before their interview. Try it out, if it is not allowing the change, you might have to cancel and retake a new appointment. From my experience getting an appointment in english is lot easier than a native language one.

How did you go about changing the appointment?
I went to the vfs site but there is no option for changing the appointment. There is option to Create/Update Saved application. Do I go through this and make the change? In that case wiil it still keep the same appointment date and reflect the change in the appointment? Thank you. |

I don't think language is the issue. It all dependns on the officer & how strong is your case. My parents speak english but still they opted for native language in order to avoid any miscommunication because of the acccent. They got the visa in no time. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure about the procedure to change the language for the appointment..
I'm able to access the forms online when I click on Create/Update saved application. So if I make the change here and continue will that help..? Thank you. |

you cannot change the language on the same appointment. You have to cancel the appointment and create a new application,

You have to cancel original appointment and apply new one with respective changes. It sounds so stupid, but that is how VFS and US Embassy works.
If you are lucky, you might get better appointment date after language change...
