Did he receive the actual Card ? that is where the meat is. Not to discourage your friend, email is often unreliable. For example, I got an email on Jan 26 that my EAD is approved and CPO. No EAD till end of Feb. Then got another email on Feb 28 with same info --- EAD approved and CPO. This time it was apparently true ! Got the EAD in a few days.

Hi Guys.. i start watching from this forum for a few days and observed there are the lot of guys doing great help for the fellow peoples.

My PD Jun 22,2010. i have ready on many forums as if the dates are not progressed in couple of bulletins (April,May 2012) then there will be only chance it will be after Sep or further bulletins as there will be no movement between the fiscal years(June,July,Auguest).. is it true or my understanding wrong?

booked the tickets for a family to go india but due to the forward movement cancelled the trip and waiting to apply for I 485.

Teddy, your inputs will be helpful.

Based on demand data you should expect some movement in the coming visa bulletin. I too am in the same boat as you. Best of luck.

We still need your maths and statistics for next several visa bulletin estimation cut off dates... Where are you?

Please forgive ignorance. Is GC is approved based on the priority date or 485 application filling First In first out basis.

Now they are moving the dates drastically.
for example:
if the person with priory date Jan 2010 file earlier 485 application ahead of person with priority date Oct 2009. Who will get the GC first.

Both of them won't get it but Person with PD of 12/20/2008 will get GC first !! It may sound as a joke but that is what is happening with USCIS. They are not processing the GC in any order that we can possibly imagine!

Not true...if the I-485 is filed and the PD is current for both....purely its your luck after that. There is no FIFO and the approvals are random.

I said pretty much the same thing. When I say USCIS doesn't follow a pattern, it does mean random.

Luck is a huge factor as well due to the sheer volumes. 50% of Nov filers and some Oct filers are also still waiting. Hope for a straight approval getting a RFE means a loss of a month.

It’s impossible to predict every VB, but since the demand data shows very few numbers there is a chance of forward movement. No this cannot be calculated because what is happening is entirely at the discretion of the agencies. Calculations are the predict the range of spillover we are well pat any reasonable number. I believe that we will have 35K spillover this year any everyone before 01-JAN-2009 will have GC in hand by Sep 2012.
