Default Canada visa needed for 1 day trip?

I have an interview at Vancouver this Wednesday. I applied for 485 and got EAD and AP. I-94 valid too. I reach Vancouver in the morning and return in the same day evening flight. Do I need a canadian visa for this travel? Please respond, since I am in short of time.

I am an Indian national, living in CA, USA.

People of India need Visa to Visit Canada unless they have US GC (http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/visit/visas.asp).

To get a Visa in such a short time, one has to apply in person. For CA, LA is better option (http://geo.international.gc.ca/can-a...nt_visa-en.asp).

Samy,
Please work on your logistics, you will not get your passport back (Assuming everything goes fine) the same day. You might get your Passport the next day.
Like APUME mentioned, you may want to think before you 'Jump'

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Please clarify. When they (canadian immigration) will withhold my passport: during visa application process or when I visit canada after getting a visa?

Anyway, I am planning to cancel this interview and going to apply for visa.

You guys are great. Thanks again.

Canadian immigration cannot withhold your passport (unless they find any criminal intent etc).
The passport with (may be) your original document would be withheld in US consulate where you would apply for VISA (may or may not depends on PIMS clearence etc.).
