Default Place of Birth Nepal but an Indian citizen-GC

Hi, My younger cousin who is in his engineering second year in Hyderabad is planning on putting his place of birth as Nepal in his passport application as per his big brother's idea who is in states. The green card process is run based on the place of birth and not based on citizenship and hence it should be easy for him. It is very easy to get a birth certificate from Nepal just in case. I am really apprehensive about the plan.Guru's what do you think of it. Any unseen dangers/after affects/side effects. please give your suggestions.

If your cousin is really born in nepal, then it would be the best thing to do, as it would help him a lot in his future GC process.

But if your cousin is doing this as a fraud, then i would not suggest to do this, as GC and citizenship is a life long process, and it is not advisable to hide anything or to misrepresent facts. And if the truth comes out later it will have serious effects........

If he is actually born in Nepal, why do you need to ask the question. However, if it is not than you are probably risking some one's aspirations of becoming a USA citizen.
