We had soft LUD on our cases as well, for both my wife and me. Hope it will be all good. My Atty mailed the application on 6/31 and it was receipted on 09/07/07.

I received an RFE today, i guess it will be one more week before we get the hard copy on RFE. I'll update once i get more details.

One possible reason could be, they might have reused our FPs given during EAD renewals few months back. But does it make sense to anyone? did anyone face the same experience?

Could be true ! That was my first thought and counted months since filing I-485. Its more than 19 month now . The Finger prints expires in 15 months.

Considering they are running late and all these LUDs are for renewing your finger prints for next 15 months , why there are so many RFEs for people who don't have their PDs current ?

2005 & 2006, not to undermine your situation but to be honest, you guys are way behind in queue. Your cases will be touched soon but let 2001, 2002, 2003 & 2004 get some consolation first

No labor (NIW). PD April 2007. 485 in July 2007. All @ NSC

My wife got RFE. Answered and received by USCIS on 26th Nov 2008. States "RFE received, case processing resumed". Soft on 2/25/2009.

My 485: Case received on 24th July 2007... blah..blah...blah. Soft LUD 11/10/2008.

EADs are approved and later renewed in 9-10 days (yes, 9-10 DAYS, USCIS is lightning fast in this aspect) at TSC, 2 yr EAD.

NSC says my preadjudication complete, FBI cleared and waiting to be assigned to an officer. Same case as others "pending...VISA availability".

Unless there is a legislation change, I have to wait till PD becomes current. However, the adjudication office can override the PD and allocate VISA number with a justification. This has happened to many people, so PD and VISA allocation is not an absolute must.

If I remember right, around July 2008, several people got soft LUD on their cases, there were 3-4 threads on these topic. All appeared to pre-adjudication process.

I also received RFE for my application. I am EB3-India with PD of Oct 2003. The RFE was about missing signatures on 2 forms (though I could see my signature there; I just re-signed those) and missing I-94s.
