Filing I-485 (Nov Bulletin) - documentation, processing time
My priority date is Oct 15, 2007 (EB2). Now that the date is current, i would like to know from experts on how to be prepared and what to expect - in terms of processing time, procedures (medical checkup), other common issues (birth certificate). All the issues that i am seeing in the blog is mostrly from folks who have filed I-485 during the Aug 2007 fiasco - so most of them are pre-adjudicated and only few formalities are left. For folks like me, we need to start fresh and hence would like to hear from those who have gone through this phase
1. Documentation
that we need to provide to our attorneys (I am already following up with my attorney - but would like to hear from you as well - just in case if the attorney misses some thing) - Education Credentials? Employemnet Credentilas? Birth Certificate issues (my birth certificate is in my native language with name as NIL as it is custom to name after a month or so), affidavits? proof for continutity of immigrant status of self and dependents?
2. Processing time
If i file on Nov 1, when can i expect Green card - what are the various phases (pre-adjudication, finger printing) - again since my date was not current, i didnt concentrate on the forums that discuss about the post I-485 filing issues
3. Other procedures
Medical checkup, EAD procedure etc.
Please help - it would be very useful for other folks like me as well.
