One interesting point in this report-

"USCIS is working with the State Department to make sure we use every available visa number. In 2007, we had more visas available in the family-based categories than were needed, so as permitted by law, we transferred those available family-based visas for use in the employment-based application process."

So, USCIS does transfers visa whenever it sees fit.

It looks like FOIA campaign from last year did have some effect. Our disappointment is that this campaign did not get any media coverage. It maybe because contacting media was not part of the campaign.We could have highlighted lack of data made public to media. In future we will always include media in every campaign. Extra media publicity could have helped more.

But I have been sreaming this point all this while, it is very important to gete media atteantion, as the issue then becomes national. Also we will be able to communicate to people that immigrants are not bad and specially now, immigrants cvan help the economy by purchasing the houses and reducing the houses crisis of loss of 2 trillion.

- Each member should feel free to write to media. Do not wait for core for this. This sould be an ongoing process every day of the year.

- Members should be writing op-eds or letters to editors anyways every week. Do not wait for others for this task.

- Offer yourself for interviews whenever we post a requirement. Several reporters contact us each month for stories they are writing. We post immediately on the forum asking for people to come forward for the interview.

- Do post your story on 'tell us your story' thread on the forum.

- Be a part of the organization and support it. Come to the site everyday to see what is going on and how you can help.

This is certainly a good attitude, but we all know the key issue is insufficient visa numbers -- until that is increased there won't be much help to us anyway
