Renewed EAD 3 times and AP 4 times Total cost from the H1 days (new h1, extension, ead, ap, 140, 485 etc - $22000) Total cost if I had bought a labor certification those days and having a GC by now - $15000 Not knowing if GC is this worth - Priceless. R2I'd in Feb 2011. |

We went to Singapore in Oct 2008 on the way to India. I called the Singapore Mission and asked the same question-- can I get visa on arrival at Singapore airport? I was told No, therefore I applied for visitor visa here in US (thru mail) and they gave me for 6 months. No hassel and peace of mind.
Please double check with embassy. |

Here is the deal about Singapore. Immigration will stamp a 4 day temporary permit on your way to India if you have an Indian passport as your destination is your home country and the country cannot refuse entry to its citizen.
But, if you are planning for doing it on your way back to US, they will not stamp or let you out of the airport. They would do that if you have a valid US visa but for AP, they do not. The reason the Singapore IO gave is the destination country could refuse entry and the person becomes a burden of state on the port he/she started from which would be Singapore and eventually they have to remove them and bear the cost. |
