Default End client letter is always best

See if you can get a letter from your end client. For H1-B extension USCIS is not accepting the letters from middle vendors.

I heard recently USCIS started calling the manager at end client and asking details of the length of the contract. They are approving the H1-B only for the length of the current contract. One case I know for sure; it was first extension after 3 years of H1-B and the extension was requested for 3 years. USCIS called the end client manager and manager told them that contract is signed for 6 months. Now H1-B is approved only for 6 months.

Yes it is not fair if we have to spend 1000s in extending H1-B every 6 months.

Most annoying part is drivers license is issued only till the end of your visa period. So every 6 months you end up loosing your driver license until you get your visa renewed.

bb08 is on a distinguished road
Default submit vendor and end client contract

Try to convince your manager and tell your situation for the client letter. Even ask for a letter without company letter head but your manager contact details and designation should be there. If that is also not worked out, just ask your middle vednor for the letter and submit the contract of middle vendor and end client.
In my case one IO called directly to my manager and aksed details about the project and duration. My extension apporved yesterday. I don't know, what is the extension period.

Try for the best. Best of luck

Angry Annoying H1-B extensions

Thats a good idea. You can submit a letter from a middle vendor along with contract between middle vendor and end client. Make sure the docs have the contact details of your manager at client.

bb08,
Could you please update us about the length of your extension?
What was the questions asked to your manager?

Default YES. Letters needed

I recently got my extension done and I had submitted letters from the end client as well as the mid client. The letter had details about project description, duration, responsibilities and then a brief description of my role and responsibilities. And no my manager has not gotten a call from USCIS.

Convey my regards, respect, gratitude and appreciation to your manager.

It is not very easy to get a letter like that. I have heard people struggling a lot with hurdles of corporate policy, HR policy, legal compliance, manager's schedule, etc. Even it takes a week of time to get the answer 'No' from the client. After working years together at client place -like working in a sweat shop- without stock option, bonus, overtime if client can't support us in these hard times, yeah it really hurts. You are so lucky to work for such a manager and client.
