H4 Stamping after extension

HI,

I am on H1 B and recently got my extension (after 3 years of initial H1B). I am now in my 5th year. My wife is on H4B her visa expired and now she also has an extension(the extension was applied and approved before the first H4B visa expired).

I did not change any companies.

I have 2 questions :

1) If my wife travels to India does she have to get stamping again.
2) If the answer to above is yes, will there be a problem if I am in US and if my Visa has no stamping.

Your wife will need to go for interview and visa stamping while in India before she can return to the US.

It should present no problem that you are not going to be with her. However, she will probably be asked for your approval notice in addition to her own since her visa is dependent on yours.

My spouse has had three visas approved in my absence with no difficulties.
