**How long does it take consulate to issue visa and return PP once DOS approves H1B**

Hello All,

Background on my case :
I went to New Delhi post for my H1B renewal, 3 year extension, same company, same job, fortune 100 company. Interview went smooth, VO said APPROVED and kept the PP and said you should get it in a couple of days through courier. I got no slip..so never thought i am a 221g candidate..

Time went by and today is 24th calendar day. I kept calling new delhi post everyday..yesterday they said its not stuck due to PIMS..so i called DOS today..they said..DOS has approved the visa and sent it to embassy in Jan..I am expecting that they sent approval on Jan 29th as on that day somebody from embassy told me you dont need to worry its approved check back tomorrow..since 29th its been 6 working days..I have no response from embassy..DOS says embassy should contact..

how long generally it takes embassy to issue you the visa once DOS says ok..
So far i had thought i was stuck due to PIMS..the i though security check..Since DOS said okay..so i am guessing both are approved THEN WHAT ELSE COULD I BE STUCK FOR ???

AND HOW LONG COULD IT TAKE NOW TO GET THE PP BACK ???

It takes 4-5 business days. Get the lawyer from your company to send a short email if possible. That can help.

hi bepositive, my laywers already sent an email to embassy to inquire about the delay and application status 2 days back no response..but i called my laywers again today to let them know that DOS told me today its been approved since Jan. Now what ???????
