Adoption while on H1B?

For a couple who is both on H1B and has their I-485 pending, how does adopting from another country and bringing the child to the US work? I am guessing it should be comparatively easier to bring the child on H4 than bringing her/him after I-485 is approved.

Does anyone have any information regarding the above? Or can someone point me to where I can find some more information regarding the same? I have been trying to find any information on the internet but it is all pertaining US citizens.

As per US law, if you are not a citizen of the US, you must have lived with your adopted child(ren) for two years before bringing him/ her/ them to the US. This applies to Greencard holders as well.
