Anybody else? >> H1B Online Case Status - Your case can not be found at this time

Hello Everyone,

My employer filed for my H1-B extension and I have already received the Receipt with "Received date" and "Notice Date" of October 21, 2008 and October 24, 2008 respectively." My case is in Vermont Center.

When I do the case search on USCIS.gov site, it says:

"Your case can not be found at this time in Case Status Online. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, you can either call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283, or you can send an e-mail to uscis.webmaster@dhs.gov."

I found at least one forum member in similar situation. Are there anyone else out there with the similar situation. Just trying to see if this is a unique issue or its happening to few more people. Please drop in a line if you are in a similar situation. We would appreciate it a lot.

PS: Worthy to mention the numbers and email listed on the error message leads you no where. I wonder why they even have it there.

Yes! I have my H1-B Case Filing Receipt Notice with EAC number.

I see the same message (as you posted) when I tried to see the status first time around Mid Nov. I thought it may take few days or a week to appear online (based on the past). But, same message till now!!

Something is not linked right and may be due to some upgrade USCIS were doing in last few months. Not Sure!!!

Same with me. Mine is also H1 extension with VSC.
My notice date is 10/31/08 and RD is 10/28/08

Mine is pending in CSC since April 2008. My husband's extension was applied in July, and it came through in September. But mine is delayed like crazy. Processing date last month was June 16 or something. We have filed SR on Oct 28, but there hasnt been any updates until now.

Bottom line, USCIS=random!

My H1B is going to expire soon and I have renew now.. but my lawyer is chanrging as below( Total Cost : 3520 - Lawyer fee : 1400$), is that we can do by ourself or have to go with lawyer.Please advice....

I have approved 140 and my PD is : AUG 2006 EB2- I.

You need to ask the person, who filed the extension to call USCIS Number and the representative will open SR for you if you are eligible, i.e. Your receipt date is less than Processing Dates by 60 days. Only employer can call for opening SR.

My company has applied for my wife's L1B to L2 conversion on 28-OCT-2008 at Vermont Service Center. Anyone knows how much time typically it takes for this request?

When we are checking USCIS website, we are getting the following message continuously. My wife called to USCIS and USCIS said, case status is valid only in the system and the person does not know why that error message is coming.

"Validation Error(s)
You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:
Your case can not be found at this time in Case Status Online. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, you can either call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283, or you can send an e-mail to uscis.webmaster@dhs.gov."


We are thinking that probably lots of applications are pending and that could be the reason. Once they pick up, it will be changed to Case received and pending and finally a decision will come.

Do you know if this is something we need to worry about that something might be wrong which might cause a long delay? Actually my wife is pregnant and she can travel back by air only till January 15th, 2008 at the maximum. So we are just worried.


Do you know how much time it takes normally for this sort of application too? Also if at all, a rejection comes, will there be any legal way she can stay back till couple of months as she will not be able to travel back that time?
