HIB TO L1A Transfer (may have a unique situation)

Hi,
I may have a unique situation. Please help me with your visa knowlege.

1. I worked for comapny A in India for 12 years and the last position held was Engineering Manager.
2. Changed/moved to company B to US on H1B worked for 18 months.
3. Changed to company C and still working on H1 for last 5 months

Now I want to join Company A only on L1A. Is it possible to get L1 from company A?

I would appreciate your help.

to work with company A for at least 1 year to qualify for L1 visa.

u shd check with attorney - but seems you have worked continuously for Company A in India for 1 year in the last 3 years - so you should be eligible for intracompany transfer...whether the job description qualifies for L1A or not is a different discussion..

i am not even sure why you have a doubt - is it because you are on H1 right now? this should be a fairly straightforward question for an attorney

Yes, but you won't be able to start work for company A until L1-A change of status is approved.

But why do you want to do L1A with company A instead can they not do h1 transfer that would be more easier !!! why are you looking for L1 visa and not h1....

Now confusion is:

I left company A in Feb 2007. Three years end on Feb 2010.

So do I need to join Company A before Feb 2010 or Feb 2009 to be eligible for L1A?
