Exclamation H1 Stamping experiance/issues

Hi,
I am starting this thread to share any experiances/issues with getting H1 stamped at india.

There are many stories floating around saying that US consulate/Embessey are rejecting H1b while stamping saying that since many americans are looking for jobs we cannot give you visa.

had any one recently done there H1 stamping at India?
what were there experiances/issues?
Any extra interview questions, officers are asking while stamping?

Please also it would be great if people can share there experiances/issues along with consulate at which they went for stamping.

If this is a duplicate thread, please delete it.

Thanks

I personally know one person who is held at India stating this reason. Only thing is he is a MSC and works in research as a technician.

Any ways I am looking for some experiances from persons, who had actually went for stamping.

If you read carefully. I have written specifically that many stories are floating about this and not mentioned I have heard from some one.

Wouldnt it be nice, if we all can share the experiances/issues.

You need to ask your friend what it says exactly on the document given to him/her by the visa officer as the reason for delay. I doubt the US embassy would put down high unemployment/recession in the US as the reason for rejection/delay. If you understand the requirements for H-1B visa, then you know what I am talking about.

Default H1B Visa Stamping...

A very good friend of mine is sitting in India for the last 3 months for his H1B visa to be stamped. His H1B visa hasn't been rejected but his company is going through multiple rounds of layoffs and there is some likelihood that this uncertainty will result in the loss of his job. He has a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas-Austin.

We heard from another person in the same boat recently on this website too. Here is an article from the NYTimes detailing the same situation: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/03/sc...ref=technology

His visa is rejected saying that "So many people in US are looking for the job of your skills".

I will try to get the exact wordings from him

He had contracted his congress man and congress man had written to embessey.
Let hope that works for him.

thanks for replying!!
