Default Types of IT jobs, newbie,Job search

Hello all,

I have recently graduated and am about to set my foot in to the world of IT.I have some contacts who are in high level management positions in IT companies.I am planning to approach them for a job but am really confused about different TYPES of jobs available.
like :

Type1:as a consultant:Takes interviews,if selected goes to client location and after completion searches for another project.Does not get paid on bench

Type2: full time: Works at the main office,no need to travel, need to learn new technologies (.net,java..)depending on the project that they get, pays annually, but less than type1

My idea is to aim for a full time even though the pay is somewhat less. The companies I am trying to get in to are not typical desi IT consultancies.

Question: I would like to know the best way to approach them
..something Like.."I would like to join as a trainee and am willing to learn any new technology depending on the requirement. As my skill set improves then the pay can be suitably adjusted"

If any of you have been through a similar situation or if any of you can offr me some suggestions in this regards it would be great...

sorry for the lengthy post

Economy is not favorable to even experienced professionals.
So try to grab what's out there...!!

My 2 cents...if you put this on dice, career websites you might get more help....!!!!

Good luck...

If you have high level contacts, then just go and take the job.

Your old posts from 2008 also talk about desi companies?

How come your PD is 2001 if you are a recent graduate. If you want someone to take you seriously, then fill correct profile information

ganguleti, with due respect to wat you said,If getting job was as easy as you said (They are just contacts which I got through extensive networking and lot of effort) then i would not have posted here...If possible try to re-read my question again and see if u have any suggestions.

Sorry about the profile..that was unintentional. Now i have edited the details.Anyway thanks for replying.
