Default 140 and h1-b extensions

hey guys , is this true?
that I-140 can only be used once to get 3-year H-1B extension. After that, we can only apply for 1 year at a time?

thanks

Default What about this one ?

Person didn't finish his 6 years of H1b timeline and has to renew H1b because of short validity of I - 94 card. Will person get 3 years of H1 b ext or only till first 6 years and then apply again to get 3 more. In my case I will have renew H1b just for 4 months before my 6 years of initial h1b expire... will they give me just 4 months first and they apply again to get 3 more ?

I have I 140 approve and no I 485 filled yet.

Depends on what you ask.
1) you can ask for 4 months only based on total 6 years of H1b
or
2) you can ask for 3 years based on approved 140
but
I dont think you could club them both together. it is better to ignore the 4 months and ask only for the 3 years based on 140.

If you 140 is approved and your PD is not current at the time of filing H1B extension or adjudication, you will get 3 years otherwise 1 year. There is NO limit on # of extension that you can file.

Default USCIS filing fee for H1 extension

What is the filing fee for a H1 extension.

My 485 is pending and my 140 is approved.

Have my EAD. thinking of applying for AP which is only valid for 1 year and it costs $ 305.00.

If we can get a H1 extension for 3 years, it is good. Also, can we self-file for a H1 extension. I usually self-file my EAD and AP. But not sure how complex the filing for H1 extension is ?

Any advise ?
