The biggest challenge for you here would be to get the Visa interview date matching with your travel itinerary. You do not have a real choice in terms of getting Visa interview date of your choice. Also visa dates for July will get open only in June and you probably will book your tickets etc well in advance, and therefore it's kind of difficult to get the Visa interview date as per your schedules. For baggage thing though, I guess airports have locker facilities available where you can put your luggage. They will charge you on hourly basis. Please find out about that. Domestic flights will most probably allow you to carry international luggage if you show them your boarding pass/eticket to confirm that you are an international traveler Good luck!. |

My brother reached Chennai early morning 2 AM and had visa interview at 9 AM. He took the risk and flight arrived on time. This was Mid-Feb 2011. I had his visa interview details, so just in case there is flight delay, I was going to inform VFS about travel delay and cancel his appointment. "No show" will get you like 90 days ban. I would do the the following - book a hotel room near consulate, leave the bags in hotel, complete the interview, then rent a taxi and to final destination. this option will be convenient compared to bus and train.

Hi all
Thanks for your suggestions. First thing ,i should get visa dates then get my flight booked accordingly.I know both things are difficult to get synchronized thats why i am trying to gather all details ahead. Lockers is a great idea ,i dinnt know about it. Because of all the distances from delhi to native places and time shortage i have to do this. So taking taxi from Delhi , i am pretty scared as i heard bad experiences. My couple friend got their certificates stripped of in delhi while they were going for visa. |
