Default Approved I-140 - Visa Extension with new employer?

I have an approved I-140 (EB3 - 2009) from employer A. I have completed six years and have been granted only 1.5 year extension based on the approved I-140.

I want to switch to employer B. Would employer B be able to obtain a 3 year extension based on the approved I-140 (by employer A)? or is employer B eligible to transfer the existing 1 year H1B extension?

It is not mandatory to get 3 years extension if you transfer your H1b to new employer. It all depends on your project and how much tenure is requested by your employer. Depending on your approved I140 you are eligible to get 3 years extension.
