Default Non-Compete with my employer

Hi All,
Currently iam working for a X company and i do have 2 layers(A,B) to my end client Y. My company got agreement with company A and A got agreement with B. Now, my client (Y)wants me on full time.I have signed non-compete with my employer that i will not join his clients. But Y is no way a client to my employer. Will there be any issue if i join with Y?

Any replies is highly appreciated.

Jagadeesh,

Which state you are in? In some states non-compete is not valid.

Even though your end client is not the direct client for your employer, they might have used the laguage in the non-compete which reflects the scenario. So check your non-compete document.

May be the final verdict is in favour, you need to take so much of pain in the whole processes. If you prepare for these upfront you can go a head and fight. I had seen couple of instances in the NY, with my friends, where non-compete became VOID.
