Default H1B Transfer from IT to Non IT job

I actually have a MS in Industrial Engineering, but I am currently working as a software developer in SPSS/STATA.

My question is, if i file my H1 thru my desi consultancy as a skilled IT worker, and try to effect a H1 transfer to another company in my field (Supply Chain/Logistics/SAP/etc), will it cause any trouble. That is, can I initially file as an IT worker and then shift my H1 to another area, or can I smoothly transfer if I have the skills for the other position?

H1 transfer is not so strict as to prevent you from doing so. If you have the requisite skills for the position your transfer should be approved.

Default Thanks

So, if I have the right industry certifications and skills, I can always make a shift without too much trouble is it. I am looking at a desi consultancy as purely a visa shop, and plan on transferring my H1 once I find a regular job.

I have no plans of hanging around in this field for too long. I cant feign experience for too long. ..Sigh!!!

Please respond to my query

Looking for a 'visa shop' is an illegal proposition and nobody on this forum condones that. H1 visa is meant to be used for bonafide jobs.

Also feigning experience is not condoned here. Here, we follow all the rules of both our H1 and AOS status. I suggest you take your insinuations somewhere else.

Thumbs down I apologize

I am terribly sorry if that sounded illegal or offensive and apologize sincerely. What I have is a BONAFIDE job based on the skills I genuinely possess. Its just that I don't want to be in this job for too long, and am looking at getting my visa through this company and leave to something I like better

That is exactly what I mean by visa shop- I am NOT paying any money to anyone to buy a Visa, but I am using them as a source to get a H1b , in a country where many companies are apprehensive about filing for new H1Bs.

Having said that, I want to confirm that I'd be able to transfer my H1B filed as an IT worker to a non-IT job (Supply Chain/Logistics, though a lot of the skills used there are IT related)

Kindly help
