NEW EAD forms posted 07/30/2007

It seems that USCIS posted new versions of I765 dated (07/30/2007)N.
Looks like it is a required form and older versions are not accepted....!!!!!


Disgusting .... I hope that USCIS issues a statement and allows for people who have already submitted or ready to submit before Aug 17th to use old forms

If you filed a Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, on July 30, 2007, or after, then no fee is required to file a request for employment authorization on Form I-765. You may file the I-765 concurrently with your I-485, or you may submit the I-765 at a later date. If you file Form I-765 separately, you must also submit a copy of your Form I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence of the filing of an I-485.

You may be eligible to file this form electronically. Please see the related link "Introduction to Electronic Filing" for more information.

Thanks for posting this. I was thinking of creating a thread for this purpose. Self filers please make sure that you file the "correct" versions of 131 and 765

Interesting thing with this new form is the re-enactment of interim EAD. We yet to get any confirmation on that though.

If they dont have the option of having old one till Aug 17th, then they made mistake as usual. They will pull this new one down tomorrow or later or they will keep the old one in parallel with instructions for the July beneficiaries.

Do not worry much. We know how USCIS works.

USCIS has already issued a press release about this but they didnt upload the older version.

They are just trying to justify both of their notifications,

1) Fee hike notification effective from today

2) July bulletin released on Jun13th

lets give them a break,

they are actually trying to straighten things out.

Below is the link where the new forms are posted on the USCIS website. Also note that beside each form under "Edition" colum it says: "Previous editions accepted." for I-485, I-765, I-131. So you can use either the new forms or the olf forms. But if you are applying based on Department of State’s July Visa Bulletin No. 107 you can file your application till August 17th 2007 and have to pay the old fee.

In fact USCIS posted on 7/30/2007 for I-765 previos versions will not be accepted. but they have updated the website on 7/31/2007 that previos versions will be accepted for I-765.

So do not worry about which version of the form you are using. Make sure you are including the correct fee.
