Default Initial Interview Request for I485

Hey guys, I received this notice in the mail from USCIS asking me to appear for "Initial" interview for further processing of my I485. Can someone please throw some light on what that might involve?

My PD is 09/04, June 07 Filer and had an RFE back in Septmeber.

Please reply.

Birth Certificate didnt have my name and my stupid lawyer had not submitted the employment letter. We then submitted my parents' affidavit, school records and employment letter.

Later on my case was transferred to National Benefits Center and now this interview.

These are minor things, although annoying, but I wouldn't worry about them. I guess it's just your GC interview. The good thing is that they are processing your case. I would suggest taking your lawyer with you. When is your interview? Just curious what is the time frame. Good luck.

We were asked standard questions and additional proof of our relationship. We submitted copies of apartment lease, tax returns for 2006 (filed jointly).

'Have a nice day' is what she said to signal that the interview was over. On our way out I asked her if we are not supposed to get a decision today. She said she had to review a couple of things and that there's 'nothing to worry about' and we should receive written decision within 4 weeks. She did mention about 'a couple of security checks being pending'. I asked 'like name check and stuff', she said yes. I didn't say anything about that new memo regarding Name Check Pending for more than 180 days and just walked out quietly, because she didnt seem like she was going to take any more questions

Now I dont know what to do next? Any idea whats gonna happen? My PD, RD and ND all are current at this time.

About what to do next, I would say start planning the "got my GC" party. Write down your guest list, the brands of wine and start talking to caterers. By the time you are done with this, you should have your approval.

My I140 sponsor is not my current employer. That's why I had to furnish both current employment letter and future employment offer letter. I have not changed employer as yet though.

If you invoked AC21, I believe you are right, you would have to furnish employment letter from your current employer and offer letter from the orig sponsoring petitioner.
