AP pending got india tickets soon, have to apply for transit visa

Hi,
I e-filed for AP on 3/28/2011 and sent supporting documents. So far I haven;t seen any updates.

I got india tickets booked for the whole family in June last week. Really worried about getting AP approvals in time (for my husband and myself). Is there a way to expedite the process? I called customer service asking them to expedite. They say I will have to pick one of their options to expedite and none of those are matching to me.

Even to take 'Info Pass", none of those online options are matching to me. ANy recommendations? What is best action to be taken?

2) I also need to apply for London transit visa? Can I get transit visa while AP is still pending? Don't they need AP approval notice? Please advice?

Mine is not a similar situation...but my experience with French transit visa.

My family is going to India on June 21st thro France. When we booked tickets we did not realise that we needed to make an online appointment to get the France Airport Transit visa.
Finally got an appointment and got the visa stamped. Visa was stamped the same day in DC. Needed to show the original Advance Parole.
I do not know the procedure for London visa but please make sure whether you need get an appointment ahead of time.

expedite is only for emergency situations, such as death on a close family member

They are sending the EAD's and AP's at around 3 months of the filing date.
Some times the Website may not be updated at all. In my case I rec'd the AP but website still shows initial review

In my case rec'd Combo cards on 86th day.

Understand that it is close call in your case

My personal experience:

Applied AP in July 21 2010
Received it in Received it in Last week of October 2010

Initially I was planning to travel through London (got my tickets booked from British Airways), but changed my mind and re-booked through Dubai. I thought taking a chance with transit visa was not worth, for which you have to send all your original documents by mail to New York.

I did apply for UK transit visa online. it comes up that we have to go for biometrics and then send out all originals to NY for visa.. I don't know how long they take to issue visa and return my passport and other documents. I crossing fingers tight.
