Default NVCAttorney request to pay fees

My PD is Nov2007 with EB2-India. I have been with the same employer working here in US with whom my GC application was originally filed.

I recently received an email from NVCAttorney@state.gov (with a copy marked to my lawyer) with a copy of Immigrant visa application processing fee bill invoice attached as pdf. Per it, fees to NVC should be paid in the next one year.

I asked my lawyer for follow up steps on this and was told to ignore this. I was told that my application will not be processed through the NVC. It will be filed through the USCIS and hence I do not need to bother about this email.

I am throwing this out in this forum for a second opinion?

Posted this to ask a lawyer section also - but no response....hence trying here.

This normally happens when you choose Consular Processing option while doing the I-140.

If not your lawyer may be right i.e just ignore.
Anyways very interesting that even now people are getting the fee notices by NVC. Teddy/others please take note...maybe they are ready for a fresh intake.
