Default RFE on Birth Certificate

We received an RFE on my wife's 485 on birth certificate asking to submit the affidavits. We already submitted the copy of the birth certificate It has both parents first names only and no last names.
Also both father's and mother's names have typos in the names, such as a "u" in place of an "a" etc.
We have filed rest of the forms with the correct spelling.
We are going to submit the affidavits with the correctly spelled names.

Is there anything else we should be doing?

Default F***ing morons

USCIS thinks the whole world will follow their format.

Coming to your point affidavits might do. "Might" as we are all dealing with a bunch of idiots in USCIS

I suggest getting three separate affidavits from your mother father and a close relative

My question to those idiots is "why so much fuss about the birth certificate of somebody who already has a valid passport?" I dont think this is for olympic gymnastic meet so isnt passport enough?

It is probably because the chargeability depends on the place of birth and not on the country of the passport. Yes, nobody would probably try to fake his birth certificate to prove that he was born in India (to get US GC, I mean) but one could try to produce a fake birth certificate of a country that is not retrogressed. Hence the scrutiny on the birth certificate.
This is just my opinion though.

But in the passport the place of birth is clearly indicated (Atleast the city). If the country issuing the passport has already verified the place of birth then what the hell does a few pieces of paper (line non availibility certificate and affidavits) about which these fellas always have questions anyways mean to them?

Default Parents name on affidavit should match that on your passport

In our case both myself and my spouse did not have birth certificates and we submitted affidavits from our parents (4 affidavits in all, one per parent for both of us). We ensured that their name matched the parent name in our passports.
