EAD/AP Combo card for 2 years

Hello Guys,
Anybody for help, I have been issued 2 yr EAD for myself and my family. This time I have applied for EAD/AP combo card. I received combo card but it is valid for only one year.Even though I am eligible for two years of renewal of EAD. when I wrote letter to USCIS they replied me as " You have been issued an Employment Authorization document(EAD) , form I-766 with an advance parole endorsement. Inital cards of this type are only for one Year with a start date matching the date of adjudication."

I wanted to know that. any body has renewed after this and got for two years combo card. which will save some money on the AP.

I need to renewal in next 2 months. I would like to know about this.Can I get 2 yr combo card this time or again they will give only one year card for which I am loosing my one year time and money for the EAD.

The previous time I applied for a combo card, I was not issued a combo card. The EAD card had a validity for 2 years, but the AP was in paper form with 1 year validity (multiple entry).

However this time when I applied for a combo card, I received the EAD/AP combo card with 2 years validity. I just received it yesterday.

This time how much did you paid for the AP while submitting . Is it for one year or two years fees.

My wife (dependent) and I (primary applicant) applied for EAD/AP renewal at the exact same time. Our current EAD expires in April. I got my new EAD/AP combo card valid from April 2013 to April 2015 - 2 years. However, my wife's EAD/AP combo card is valid only for 1 year, and that too from Jan 2013 to Jan 2014! is this a mistake or was it deliberate? Can someone please shed some light on this? Should I contact USCIS and get this "fixed"?

I was affected by the same back in Sept. I previously had 2 yr EAD and 1 yr paper AP. Applied for EAD & AP renewal togther, and got a 1 year combo card . This was from TSC.

When we contacted USCIS, got the same explanation stating that initial combo cards are issued only for a year. Now, I am hoping that subsequent renewal will be for 2 yrs (since EB3I is retrogressed).

I need to renew my Wife's combo card, in the next few days.

History
Paper filed for my wife last year and got 9 month combo card
efiled my documents 1 week later and received 1 year AP and 2 year EAD.

Trying to figure if I should efile or paper file my wife's application.

I have a slightly different problem. I paper filed for EAD recently (and even requested expeditement). Now I am thinking of filing for AP too. I just got the receipt notice of my EAD. Does anyone know if I can now send in my AP papers along with EAD receipt and request a 2 year combo card? should it be sent to the same address?

For my latest renewal, I did it through my company lawyer. They efiled the application, and then sent in the required documents through mail. I don't think it matters whichever way you file. They don't have any correct guidelines to issue the validity period.

First time I paper-filed, I got the EAD and AP separately for 1 year period. They second time I efiled, I got EAD for 2 years, and AP for 1 year (in paper form), and not as combo card. This time my lawyer filed, and I got both EAD and AP as combo card for 2 years.

It all depends on the mood of the guy approving it, I guess.
