Paper filed my wife's application on Monday via USPS express mail. Recevied 2 text and email notifications today ........
Your USCIS application/petition has been received and routed to the Texas Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number XXXXXXXX Just putting an update for people who are still waiting to file. Looks like some days are getting wasted in paper filing process. As you send the application to a Lockbox and then it gets route to the service center. The checks have not been cashed yet. I will be filing mine this week. Now that some IVians have come forward and said that they have efiled for combo card, I am trying to decide weather I should efile mine or follow the same process that I did for my wife. When efiling I remember that we have to wait for the RFE before sending the supporting documents with Photographs. Is the process the same or we still need to wait for the RFE. |

Just e-filed my EAD and AP application concurrently and the system generated the same concurrent filing number on both receipts.
Now I will mail all supporting documentation for both EAD and AP in the same envelope to the same address that was generated on the receipts. Will update this thread when I get the combo card

Its funny that you ask this question since I e-filed my application on 4/23 and my EAD expires on 8/19. When I submitted my e-filed application I thought I was clearly in the 120 day window but after e-filing I thought about literally counting the days and then realized that it comes to exactly 119 days - that was a relief. I would recommend to be clearly within the 120 day window (so 119 days and less) before e-filing. Why take a chance with the USCIS and their processes.

The ultimate decision lies with USCIS. They will review your case once they have the visa availability at that point they will verify everything. Exception: there are some pre-adjudicated cases where the USCIS did have lot of time to review the cases and no more applications were coming in due to visa unavailability. Bottom line: You are never safe to you receive your physical card. |
