EAD case not found

Hello,

My attorneys applied for my EAD extension in the 2nd week of May and I received my receipt notice last week, May 16th to be precise. I went online today to check the case status but the system says my case is not found. Did anyone experience this previously. Should I wait for couple of weeks and check the status again?

If you attorney paper filed your application then it takes about 1 month for it to show up in the online system. I paper filed my wife's application mid April and it showed by online in mid May and we got the screwed up combo card the same day.

Thankyou BSNF. I dont think my attorney ever paper files... I am not worried about the combo card because I just applied for EAD and my AP is not in a renewable date range. Did you file for both EAD and AP together or did you file them separately?

In case of my wife's application we paper filed both EAD & AP and got 2 receipts. Both receipts showed as not found for a month.

In my case I efiled both application and both receipts were in the system - checked after 1 week of filing.

The online system is occasionally slow to get updated. It depends on the data entry. I had an issue with I-140 case which did not show up for 2 years (until the date it was approved).

So, you can always call the USCIS customer service number and see what the automated phone system says or speak to the level 1 agent.

After three weeks when I was thinking of calling the USCIS, my case showed up online.

EAD filed date: 05/14/2012
LUD: 06/02/2012

Don't know how long it will take to get approved.

LUD don't mean much. Its a waste of time trying to keep tab on it.
If your EAD is delayed open a service request.

Nope, my current EAD expires on 8/30/12. I was only concerned because my case was not showing up online for 3 weeks even after receiving the EAD renewal receipt. I will post an update once I receive the new EAD.
